With Hud a close second. I feel like Newman and other hearthrobs like Brad Pitt don't get enough credit because of their looks but Newman was great in both of those. He finally got his due with the Verdict but he was great in many roles.

a great notion to jump in the river and drown.

May favorite though by Ken Kesey was The Electric Cool Aide Acid Test.

... a loop. Toss in an occasional Third Man, Magnificent Ambersons, Citizen Cane, Casablanca - I'd be 100% satisfied. Maybe add Stagecoach. And Unforgiven, Holiday, Tombstone. Oh yeah, Chinatown and both Fantasias.

Great story, he's fantastic, & we get the climactic scene with Wilford Brimley!
And, I don't care for Sally Field, but even she was ok in it.
Other obvious options were Butch Cassidy, The Verdict, The Hustler, & Color Of Money.
