(32,133 posts)I suspect this spring the Skippa will be encountering a skunk up close. They are not fast and he'll be curious, so he will most likely get sprayed...
I will apply a combo V-8 with a splash of Dawn Lemon dish detergent. A Bloody Mary shampoo.

(2,297 posts)Over the years Ive found rid to be the best remedy:
1 quart of 3 percent hydrogen peroxide (fresh bottle)
¼ cup of baking soda (sodium bicarbonate),
1-2 teaspoons of liquid dish soap
Mix together and work thoroughly through the fur. Let it sit for at least five minutes Wash out. Magic

(100,133 posts)The baking soda fizzes it right up and neutralizes the peroxide, while the small amount of liquid dish det gets the oils of the spray.
Rinse well. Towel dry.
Mine never learned.
