I made it through surgery.

The good news is that I didn't have a hernia. However I had an abscess on my left butt cheek. I'm recovering now and won't be able to reply, but I wanted to thank everyone for their well wishes.

I don't know how long they will keep me in the hospital, but I hope to return to my regular posting routine on Saturday. It will be nice to be able to sit upright rather than lying on my hips.

Once again, thank you for the prayers and DU vibes--they really work. I'm keeping up with reading the threads and hope to return ASAP.

It took about 8 hours to move me from triage to a regular room. I'm currently on tramadol for the pain in the butt.

That sounds painful -- I hope the hospital (or somebody) provides you with a soft cushion to sit on for a while!

I bought a donut cushion, but it didn't help much. Hopefully, the pain will subside soon and I can get back to my normal routines at home. I'll be glad to go to the grocery store again since I have about $200 in lottery tickets to cash in and I haven't been to the bank this month.

Had hernia surgery 35 years ago. It took two or three week's before I could even walk half normally.

Good luck.
