I am really home now from the hospital/nursing home stay starting in mid October to January 31st.

Why? My 110 lbs yellow Labrador is now with me in my little house. 🐶

She misses my son, his family (daughter in law, 2 daughters, and their dachshund) where
she was staying as I was medical prison but she seems to have adapted to being back
with me now. She slept by me when I was on the sofa and when I went to bed she hopped
up sometime when I was sleeping. We just had a nice walk and considering that I couldn’t
walk @ Xmas and New Years it was wonderful.

Btw my 6 year old grand daughter has been crying from even before Pepita left their home
to come be with me. I will have to schedule some visits soon. Pepita really loved her new
family. She used to go and sleep under the younger girl’s crib or sleep with my son and his
wife.

9. I have been sleeping like a champ or my new couch and mattress.

I got sick and pooped on the old ones before I went into the hospital. The hospital gurney/bed
for the past 2.5 months in the nursing home was not comfortable at all.

I made some shrimp and grits the other night and put it into aluminum foil bread pans
and put them into the freezer. I got one out this AM and after it thaws I will slice off
a few pieces and fry them.

God it is good to be home. Thank Dog in heaven.

3. Great. My walking resumes in a couple of days. I had a stress fracture in my foot. Once that became a regular

morning routine, I really miss it when I can't.

14. The nursing home was a nightmare

I started to work on getting out of there from the 1st minute I was there.

17. I get that! It always was a warehouse where you wait for death.

Now with COVID it's almost guaranteed. "Skilled Nursing facility", my ass. I'm glad you got out alive.

18. We did have some skilled care but overall my P.T. (physical therapy) was self directed

I was one of the very few residents who was getting out > 95% weren’t. People missing
limbs and digits from diabetes, neuromuscular diseases, and vascular problems. My
roommate (on the other side of the curtain) is on his way out @ sometime in 2024 and
he would call for his mother in Chinese @ night. Once I could sign my way out of the building
I would go out for walks as much as I could even with snow on the ground because the fresh
air was a tonic. The nursing home had the little Cuyahoga River behind it and bike/hiking path
along it and I made use of it.

We did have a strain of covid go through the facility in late Dec. / early Jan. and that got us
a 2 week lock down and put my rehab back for sometime.
