One year it was 2016 the end of November a Rufus hummingbird showed up way away from his range and he stuck around for about three weeks. I had to keep refilling the feeder as it was freezing. I read in the bird book that they are occasionally seen in the east in the late fall. It hasn’t happened again

The top one is the Rufus and this one is the ruby-throat

Birders from the NY/NJ/CN Tri State and where ever else came to see it.
I did too bc for all the flowers deliberatly planted to attract hummers - and I spent decades in one park (enjoying the scenery) I'd only seen one hummer, a female, and it was near sunset so lower light.

This was my chance to see another!

Have yet to see a third one. 🙄

Me: I would spend all my time with my great granddaughter. It would be fun since we’re about the same mental age most of the time.

If left to myself, I would never want to do anything else. I have a love/hate relationship with the Internet, because I'm addicted to it, and yet it takes time away from reading real, actual paper-and-ink books.

I'd like to start a blog matching different kinds & types of beach towels to all the different beaches of the world. You should have the proper size, thread-count and even padding depending on the size of the sand or gravel or even rocks!

It wouldn't hurt that I could then deduct all the travel as legit business expenses
