I keep seeing stuff on YouTube very recently (last night, etc.) that we're supposed to be getting another Social Security check in the mail, that these payments were going to be posted in the mail starting as recently as the day before yesterday.
Confusing to me. Does anyone have any more information on these payments?
Thanks!

(22,288 posts)Mine always drop on the 4th Wednesday. Mr YD's are on the 2nd Thursday
At least that is the routine. If it is going to be on time, my bank will show it as pending sometime tomorrow.
I will be pissed if it doesn't show up
If this is regarding a catch-up payment of some sort, I have not seen anything on You Tube. I would assume it would drop into our bank since we are already on direct deposit

(86,915 posts)I got mail from SS admin telling me that since the state isn't covering my Part B premiums anymore, I get to live on $900/month now. I think I'll sell a car, the newer one.
*sigh* Retirement in 'murika.

(8,203 posts)our health benefits..and switching to United, so unless you opt out, and go on your own..it was an automatic enrollment..I did not want United so during open enrollment I did lots of research..I had BCBS..and now have Cigna..$0 premium, and they pay $100 towards my Medicare Part B...it is an Advantage Plan..but, I never used BCBS but once in 10 years..for an antibiotic when I had dental work last year..I understand everyones situation is different..

(8,203 posts)my take, it is click bait..unless you hear directly from SS..if you haven't already set up an account with SS strongly suggest to do..here you go..
easy peasy..remember to write down your user ID and password...I always forget mine, don't use often..SS deposit to bank account is so automatic, and if there is info I need to know SS will email and notify me..

that from SS or any news.

If you haven't gotten something by mail, and I know we didn't, I'd consider it bogus.

(22,196 posts)rec'd my yearly cola uptick, so these blurbs on YouTube, etc. are a scam or something like that. I had, from multiple YouTube videos, that we're to receive $1200 +$1400+$2000 (or something like that) one time payments to Social Security folks starting in mid-Feb. The impression I rec'd from the YouTube blurbs was that these payments were extra one-time payments to SS folks just passed in the Senate (I don't/didn't recall seeing anything like this in the news). So confusing.
Lesson to me: Don't pay attention to YouTube videos stating this sort of crap. They are not true. There were at least 3 or 4 YouTube things out there on the SSA raises to come, w/ the stuff just signed by Congress, yada, yada, yada.
Thanks all for the information, tips, help.

(17,106 posts)From Newsweek, so I was thinking maybe I'd get a windfall. I googled and according to AARP, there is not going to be another stimulus check. AARP reported that AI has generated the reports, and headlines with dates of last August and November, and now February, have come up on browsers and You Tube.
I don't know if this is what you are wondering about.
