In case there were any lingering doubts about genetics and heredity

My wife just dug out a 40 year old photo of me and our elder daughter and put it side by side with a recent pic of her elder son.

You'd think time and gender had been erased.

My wife's genes are evident, anyway.
I guess I'd have to be very tolerant of anyone wondering who my daughter's father is, though!

7. Ha! We could only wish!

First of all, for them, Aruba was just a 4 hour direct flight from New York. For us, we'd have to fly first to Amsterdam (about 40 minutes), change in that immense airport of theirs, and then fly ten hours to Aruba. Not quite the same amount of travel time.

Our daughter was quite the model baby, indeed, and her son is no slouch, either. My wife's genes went a long way in dominating mine--fortunately, for all concerned!

He has Russians on both sides of the family (Petrov from his father's side, and Popkin from mine). He'll have plenty to genetic material to work with in case he wants to look like a logger from the Pacific Northwest when he grows up. As for me, just call me Rasputin III. In a capricious move several years ago, I came across, and bought for myself, the last portrait of Rasputin painted from life. He was assassinated a few days later.

Scary, ain't it? (Any resemblance is purely coincidental--I'm pretty sure anyway! )
