The list of possible solution words is shorter than you might suppose. There is a difference between the words Wordle allows as guess words and the words it allows as solutions. The much-used OURIE is allowed as a guess, but not as a possible solution. Another word which I was tempted to use recently, but did not because it's not on the solution list: QUOIN.
