and they show artisan work from various countries including a globe maker in England. He makes custom globes with a team of skilled workers. They are pricey, but they can put in little variants like the town where someone was born, for example. They are also stunningly beautiful.

even though it was a time of bright yellow kitchens with gingham curtains. Everything else seemed to be shades of grey: greenish grey, pinkish grey, brownish grey. Well, except for bedrooms, there was always a pink one and a blue one and I always got stuck with the pink one so it's a color I'm not fond of to this day.

I think my impression of such a drab world was gained from TV and movies, all of the former and most of the later B&W. The funny part is that I prefer the old B&W movies now, color tended to be cheap and garish.

It was a time that should have been great for white men, they got to be Daddy Bug Bucks, even men who pushed brooms wee paid enough got supply the house with a fridge and washing machine. plus a used ar so he didn't have to take the bus to work. It was not a good time for anyone else, there were rigid rules for everything.

1955 is why we all started to turn to drugs 10 years later.

My wife found it in an antique shop in about 1975. I love it, although some of the political boundaries are no longer accurate.

My mother still has it and has said for years, "Globe makers need to make them with Velcro so we can updated them". Ours still has USSR
