I liked "Dragnet," but that was a police procedural. "Magnum" was pretty good, too. Mostly, I didn't like detective shows. I did watch "Columbo" a few times, but never really got into it.

(11,846 posts)Yeah, Dragnet looks dated as hell now, but Jack Webb is a trip to watch.
And my wife and I just finished watching all of Father Dowling. Fun show, even though it jumped the shark about midway through. But it recovered somewhat near the end.
Also liked Streets of San Francsico, too.
