What is/was your favorite detective series on television? I liked Rockford.

My mother loved it as well, but she hated Angel.

I liked "Dragnet," but that was a police procedural. "Magnum" was pretty good, too. Mostly, I didn't like detective shows. I did watch "Columbo" a few times, but never really got into it.

43. Dragnet, both the '50s and '60s versions. Also Father Dowling Mysteries with Tom Bosley and Tracy Nelson.

Yeah, Dragnet looks dated as hell now, but Jack Webb is a trip to watch.

And my wife and I just finished watching all of Father Dowling. Fun show, even though it jumped the shark about midway through. But it recovered somewhat near the end.

Also liked Streets of San Francsico, too.
