Well, the big day was today. Wife went to Pittsburgh and she got selected for Grand Jury Duty. She has to go to Pittsburgh Every month for 1-3 days. She is not pleased.
Of course she can't tell me any good stuff but during the introduction/orientation time she was told that in Western PA there are 2.5 million people/register voters to be pick from. The U.S. picks 2 Grand Juries a year and basically 100 names are drawn per Jury to number it down to get 23 jurors and 10 alternates.
The thing that surprised her was that the jurors and alts were already picked by a computer. It is nothing like getting selected for a jury trial on state level or fed level which would actually hear a case.
