(179,869 posts)President Biden signed some floor speech signs from his speech at the 2016 National Convention and took my iphone from me and snap some amazing selfies better than I could manage. President Biden was talking to some other guests at the same time as he was taking the selfies. At the other fundraiser, I had maxed out in donations and got to speak to him about stuttering.

(20,897 posts)I have admired him as an Actor, Singer/Songwriter, and Humanitarian since 1997.
I had the pleasure of seeing him twice in concert at Chicago's House of Blues with his then band Thirty Odd Foot of Grunt or TOFOG. In 2001 after wrapping up with A BEAUTIFUL MIND, and in 2003 after MASTER & COMMANDER:The Far Side of The World.
In 2001, he brought out a gym bag onto the stage and took out the Oscar he won for Best Actor for GLADIATOR. He held it up and we responded in unison "Strength and Honor". He thanked us for making the film the hit that it was. Not to mention, his show was a resounding hit!

(113,971 posts)I want to spend time with someone whose talent and intelligence surpass celebrity and whose life experiences and humanity would surely have lessons for others... And, if you notice, all good Liberal/Progressive Democrats.
Plenty too from the music world, but I'll start with John Legend...

(7,797 posts)I do not agree with him 100%, but I admire him. Believes in respectful dialogue, promotes peace, works tirelessly at trying to drag the Catholic Church out of the dark ages.

(10,193 posts)His music got me through some really tough times growing up - I would love the opportunity to just tell him in person.
I would also like to meet Stephen King, though I have no idea what I would say to him!

(24,906 posts)After reading "Life", his autobiography, he's got more stories to tell than probably anyone on the planet. Fascinating person indeed.
Second choice is Jann Wenner, founder of Rolling Stone magazine, for the same reason.

(520 posts)He was walking by and i did the inexcusable - I greeted him and asked for an autograph.
He was genuinely the nicest person to talk to - he stayed and talked for a couple of minutes to my daughter and I.
(Later at the after show party I stood next to Dustin Hoffman, and he really is short. I mean walk under my outstretched arm short. Whereas The Rock is BIGGER THAN LIFE when you are standing next to him.)

(159 posts)Formerly of the Kinks. Now with the Jay Hawks.
Love that man!
I met Nancy Pelosi a long time ago. She was really nice & relatable.
In my Hippie days, Willie Nelson picked me up hitch-hiking in Austin.
He wasn't that famous back then but he was the real deal!

(76,704 posts)Some I liked a lot. The first name that came to mind of someone I'd like to meet but haven't, I Joe Satriani.
I won't run the last of those I did meet.
President Biden, Former Presidents Clinton and Obama, and Colin O'Donoghue, and almost forgot Micky Dolenz.

(26,014 posts)I think I'd be in such awe that I'd freeze up, but they are interesting and genuine, so I'd just listen to anything they had to say.
I did meet Hillary Clinton once when she campaigned for Senator in NY. Had a very brief chat. She was warm and personable. Attentive listener.
