What goes in you taco hard shell or soft.when you make or buy it? I like refried bean, diced onion and shredded cheese.

1. My favorite is

pork carnitas with onions, lime juice and tapatio hot sauce. Carnitas are made by first slow-cooking a pork butt in the pot and then shredding the pork and frying it for a few minutes in lard. Very unhealthy but very tasty lol.

2. Vegetarian refried beans

Shredded cheddar, salsa, diced tomato and avocado, shredded lettuce and chopped cilantro along with a squeeze of lime juice.

I doctor up the beans by first heating cumin seeds and diced garlic in a little olive oil, adding the canned refried beans, and mixing in chili powder.

5. Beef cooked with Taco Bell seasoning

packet. Lettuce, tomato, black olives, refried beans, grated cheddar, and sour cream. Yum. Used to love Taco Bell drive-thru but they changed their beef and I will never go back.

10. depends on what kind of tacos

for basic American hard shell tacos - ground beef (with cumin, salt, touch of Mexican oregano, pepper, garlic and onion powder), chopped sweet onion, shredded lettuce, tomato, cheese (usually just sharp cheddar), and salsa - usually El Pato jalapeno. served with soupy or refried pinto beans.

pork usually goes on soft corn tortillas with shredded cabbage and a more vinegar based salsa, also lime and fresh cilantro

chicken can be similar to either of those or rolled into flautas. (guac or queso fresca on top)

fish/shrimp can be fried, or grilled in several different formats.

bean tacos in hard shell same as for ground beef.

other types of beef can be in a hard or soft shell.

mostly prefer corn tortillas for tacos, but occasionally flour is acceptable.

19. Breakfast tacos are a thing where I live, so I'll address those first.

Soft flour tortilla with various combinations of scrambled eggs, bacon, chorizo, diced potato, cheese, avocado/guacamole...backed with plenty of hot sauce.

If I'm making tacos for dinner at home, I go crispy shell, seasoned ground beef, grated sharp cheddar & lettuce, and diced tomato...backed with plenty of hot sauce.

When eating out, I'll occasionally have soft tacos based with more exotic ingredients, pork, chicken, cabrito, shrimp, fish.

IMO, beans don't belong in a taco. Putting beans in a soft tortilla makes it a burrito, and putting beans on a crispy tortilla makes it a tostada.

20. i live in a very mexicano hood.

never seen a hard shell taco anywhere but taco bell. lettuce, tomatoes and cheese r for gringos.
double soft corn tortillas, meat, w cebola (grilled onion) and cilantro on the side. that’s it. that’s a taco around here.

if u want the trimmings, u can have them, but they come w a side of .
