Thought I couldn’t be shocked by our specie’s disregard for life in general. But today I was behind a guy who steered and aimed his truck to smash a turtle crossing the road. I caught up to his big pickup at the stop light and just shook my head as he laughed. I’ll shrug it off but seriously wtf.

5. Yesterday on the way to let the grand dog out

There was a young black snake (I think) across the road. I saw it was alive, but i knew it wouldn't be for long, too many idiots like the one who killed the turtle in the area. I turned around and did my darnedest to make it get off the road. Instead of slithering away, it coiled and struck at the car. I had a plastic sign, so I got that out and tried to make it go, but it wouldn't. It wasn't a good place to stay stopped for long, so I gave up, turned around again, and tried a little longer to make it get going. Amazingly, no cars came either way while I was trying to save the snake. I gave up and went on to walk the dog. When I came back the same way, I was so happy to see there was no dead snake, and no evidence it had got hit.

I'm sorry you had to witness such wanton destruction and needless cruelty.
