(6,410 posts)Please listen to each other, hold hands through your shared grief and sorrow. Make decisions together. There is time to memoribrate together, to say thank you, To pack for whatever journey lies ahead, making sure your favorite moments are easily accessible in the carry on.
Every tear I shed is but a tiny payment for the unimaginable joy I experienced with you, Mine are tears of celebration and gratitude. There's plenty of room fortears of sadness and loss too of course but most will be tears of joy.
With all my prayers to our higher spirit, power, etc.

(732 posts)My prostate was enlarged and caused bleeding in my bladder after intense exercise and a hot sauna. I peed blood then hours later could not pee at all!
I finally got a catheter in me hours after my ER visit and tests revealed that my condition was benign.
I recently had two close friends pass from this disease and I had my mind set on trying this protocol. Go to YouTube and search for the Joe Tippins cancer story and discover what he did to cure himself of cancer that already spread.
Go to Face Book and ask to join this group and search the files there for his cancer type and look for success stories.
My thoughts are with you two! R/Marty

(3,451 posts)But please try to remember his is one of the most successbully treated. I walked this path with my husband, but his was not on that treatable list. It's a tough road, and he'll need to lean on you, so PLEASE remember to take care of yourself. It's easy to forget to do. We're all here for you.
And I'm just going to throw this out here...Mike was pretty much able to sail through chemo with help from friendly herbs.
One before he went in, and one when he came out. No nausea, and he could eat well.

(98,883 posts)If it shows spread there are options available that can keep it stable for quite a long time.
Since the physician called for a PSMA scan it is likely you are at a comprehensive cancer center, and that would be a good thing, but regardless you may want to consult with a second opinion after the PSMA scan.
Wishing you all the best.

My brother-in-law is a 20+-year prostate cancer survivor. They treated him with radioactive seeds that they inserted into his prostate. It worked and he's alive and healthy at 84.
Best of luck.

(62,698 posts)when we were kids. I lost both my grandmothers to cancer when I was a child, but haven't lost any relatives to cancer since then, though a number of them have needed treatment for different types of cancer. Just the word is scary, when you can remember times when the treatments weren't as good. But Rich will be getting expert care.
And we're here for you. Lots of prayers and healing vibes for Rich, and hugs for you.

(12,562 posts)Very scary when this sort of diagnosis is given. My husband had a health (cancer scare) last October, his diagnosis liver cancer. Seemed like everything was turned upside down and inside out. But . . .
As shocking as that initial news was, his outcome was very good.
Here's hoping you and your husband have an equally positive result at the end of this.
Cancer sucks but good outcomes are possible.
Sending blessings in your direction.

(947 posts)My aunt was diagnosed with metastasized breat cancer back when the prognosis was death in 5 years. She found that out 10 years later and asked her oncologist why he hadn't told her. He said, you're a person, not a statistic. You'll die when it's your time to die, not when the mythical average person dies. Anyway she did die of cancer, 24 years after she was diagnosed. She was 76.
I'm praying you'll get good news on the PET.
