SideWinder Rattler Snakes,
Gopher Snakes and
Corn Snakes.
The first 2 are deadly and the second 2 are harmless as far as bites.
My great granddaughter is a lover of snakes, she handles them like Irwin did.

(277,091 posts)Flit can spraying a garden snake that showed up among the boards that were going to be installed in the new kitchen. Mum and dad were away on holiday and granny and My favorite aunt were looking after us.
It was scary and hi,arious. The snake simply slithered away- a harmless green garden snake. 😀

(14,293 posts)people freak out on snakes because of the negative stories about them throughout history when in fact, they are a vital part of the environment, even the poisonous snakes have a purpose in the grand scheme of life.

(26,467 posts)As a child in northern NYS, we always had baby garter snakes in the spring, would capture and play with them, so I'm not at all freaked out by snakes.
Several years ago, sitting in this computer room with the door to the outside opened, I suddenly realized there was a snake slithering along the shelving unit just to my left. It was disconcerting, as I hadn't noticed the snake coming in. Anyway, I captured it, took a good look, and let it loose outside.
Afterwards I googled snake images. Lo and behold, it was a Corn Snake. Yes!

(14,293 posts)When as a kid, we, as a family, used to visit our grandparents in Loomis, CA and we would chase and get chased by garter snakes, they were quite playful.
Never forgot that, I have a deep respect for all snakes because of my childhood experiences.

(18,679 posts)Than I do most of my neighbors. I'll rescue snakes, or watch them go on their way. The lady who saved the gopher snake did a good thing.

(14,293 posts)I love watching Youtube videos of people saving or helping wild animals, I once watched a video of a person giving a cobra snake a drink of water on a hot summer day, the snake was grateful for the help.
