OK, I really am getting old.

The other day, I was at a grocery store I had never been in before, and the clerk insisted on getting a phone number. I gave her an old one I don't have anymore. Just now, I was in a dollar store and they wanted my birthdate because I bought a couple of movies from the bargain bin. I made one up. Both of these incidents have two things in common: Demanding personal information in front of God and everybody without batting an eye just to accommodate a stupid computer system, and some stranger acting surprised that I would not just give it. I'll bet it didn't even occur to them, who are much younger than I am, that anyone might find that threatening. But then, we live in a day and age where some punk with a website dares to say something to the effect of, "Privacy is a thing of the past. Get over it." I think it was Zuckerberg.

Once it is given up or allowed to be 'archived'--or taken unwillingly, it is gone...

... just tell them if they want to call it's $10 for the first minute, $4 per minute thereafter.

February 29th, 2000 is a good birthday to give them, but I look too old for that.
