8. OMG I just took a quart of freshly picked strawberries

to my 91 year old golfing buddy who is in a nursing home. He doesn't have an appetite but he did for these strawberries. I had to fight the nurses away to keep them from gobbling them up. I made a little shortcake for him.

31. Bought a lug of local Ohio strawberries Monday

I have made and canned strawberry-rhubarb jam, regular strawberry jam, strawberry pie filling, put some whole berries in the freezer, and eaten several dishes of slices berries with a bit of sugar and doused with a goodly amount of heavy whipping cream. 😋😋😋. Think there are enough left for a couple more dishes of berries and cream. And then I am done for this strawberry season. Next on deck - probably blueberries, then tart cherries and peaches. All as local as possible.

Cheers to great summer fruits and the farmers who grow and harvest them.
