Please forgive me for having missed your beautiful post till now. I really do love seeing them, and always make a point of commenting...

Somehow I missed this one.

And it is gorgeous! I may have seen other copies of it somewhere.....

It reminds me of Picasso.

I made him stand in front of it while I took his picture, for a family laugh.

He's having a sort of anti-technology phase, perhaps because I'm his father and I'm a techie.

So I insisted on taking his picture with the painting.

Leger was a strong believer that the key to overcoming the tragedy of the First World War - then called the "Great War" - lay with advanced technology. Why he believed that I don't know, but he often incorporated machine like motifs into his painting.

From the perspective of hindsight, we can see his faith in technology as an antidote to war was at best niave.

But it's a great painting. We have the picture I took with my son in it on our computer screen saver.
