Didn't cost me much... and I should have known better.

(61,138 posts)It simply isn't worth the hassle. Like I said, they were cheap.

(29,835 posts)Got it from Temu (Chinese hawker of cheap wares). It attached around belt. Grommets pulled apart, making it useless. Im done with that place.

(6,727 posts)we cant check quality. Since there are so few real stores anymore.
A throw blanket shrank to the size of a towel. Returns are difficult and not worth it.
I wonder how much Amazon et al profit is thrown away junk.
And I miss shopping, chatting and browsing and finding something not on the list.
debm55
(61,138 posts)rock. I called Amazon and they told me that I couldn't return if it was open. DUH I had to open to find out if it was hard. That was a one pound block of clay . Fail.

(41,039 posts)Have you heard of bin stores? They're popping up all over & sell merchandise that was purchased online & returned. If you "return" something to Amazon, chances are it ends up in one of these stores. It's too cumbersome to restock so more & more companies are doing this.
There is too much stuff on the planet. So much stuff we don't need & not enough things that we do need, like potable water for everyone.

(29,667 posts)I very, very rarely order online and I have never spent any money on Amazon. I like to look at what I am buying (and try it on if it's clothes, I am hard to fit), and I like to check quality control.
I also miss department stores that had experienced buyers. In our rush to cut out the middle man, we lost sight of the fact that buyers actually performed an essential service, upping the quality and selection at stores. There are still a few gift shops here and there where they actually seem to use buyers, and I get a lot of stuff at those places, glassware, gift wrap, jewelry, etc.

(61,138 posts)might have to go to Kohl"s and try it on. I like Warner's bras, but like shoes they have a FAIL bought online.

(11,908 posts)Of course this video helped me determine what band and cup size I should buy. I hope this video helps you as much as it helped me. I'm happy with my new online purchases.
Our cup size should really never change unless surgery is involved. The band size should or will increase or decrease with weight increases or decreases.

(9,067 posts)Very large and expensive to ship, got it fully assembled only to discover some damage and issues from poor manufacturing. I went to a lot of trouble to disassemble and repackage it up, and the seller provided only a partial refund. This was an Amazon third party seller, and I battled for weeks with them and Amazon before giving up.

(9,067 posts)I left them negative feedback, and then they started to pester me to take it down directly to my email address. Apparently, sellers bribe Amazon employees to provide that information. I reported this to Amazon as well and still didn't get this to go in my favor.

(9,067 posts)Getting that package up to my apartment was a real bear. It took over an hour to unpack and assemble that damn thing. The VERY LAST piece wouldn't assemble because the holes were drilled incorrectly, and there was no re-drilling them. So, I had to tear it all down and force it back into the same box somehow and ship it back. Fortunately, that was Crutchfield back in the 90's, and they took care of everything. Different deal with these Amazon third-party sellers today.

(11,908 posts)My son has a size 14 shoe so it's not really a size that's carried inside most stores.
Once I discovered this online store, I started purchasing shoes for myself from there.
One time, I didn't look at the photo of the bottom of the shoe treads online (massive mistake on my part). Every time it rained or after it rained, walking on certain surfaces was like walking on ice from the lack of tread on the bottom of the shoes. This could happen to anyone either in-store or online shopping, so make sure you always check out the treads. I can't stress this enough.
Another time I ordered the Psycho trilogy movies off Amazon. The DVD disc's came in one DVD container. All the movies froze or had some sort of defect that made watching them unenjoyable.
Another time I order off Amazon, I ordered my son two pairs of jeans size 30x34. One was the correct size, the other size was a 38X34, about a 120 pound difference. I didn't pay attention while I was wrapping them for Christmas and my son had the incorrect size of jeans for an entire year before he told me about it. I stopped purchasing jeans off of Amazon and now buy them off of Old Navy. So far, no size screw ups with Old Navy.

When it came in - not even the same thing I saw on the screen!!
Kept it anyhow - OK for washing the car, but nowhere near as powerful as led to believe.
Oh - and the final blow - saw the same damned thing a month later at an 'Ollies' - $10 cheaper!!!!

(77,046 posts)Bought if from Wayfair. It was not a cheap set. Just under 2 grand.
Took nearly an hour to get everything out of the boxes, and about 2½ hours to assemble it.
Sat for a week or so, and my wife had a friend over. The first time anyone sat in it, one of the slat welds broke!
I contact them. They say "It's only cosmetic, we'll offer you $50 in credit." I replied "You didn't look at the picture! It's broken & unsafe to sit in." Them: "We'll set up a repair."
Next day, get an email saying they don't do those kind of repairs. They agree to send me the seat part, and I can disassemble and send the broken one back. Ok by me.
Next day, they tell me that the manufacturer doesn't want to just send the part. I say "This is a manufacturing defect. Who's responsible for the manufacturing? The manufacturer! They work for you. Tell them what YOU require."
Next day: they won't do it, but they'll send the parts for the whole chair. Again, ok by me.
Two days later, they tell me that the manufacturer will only send the whole set. Then....
I can take the whole original one apart, put the new one together, repackage the old one & arrange pick-up.
Another 5 hours worth the work.
To cap it off, they said I had FIVE DAYS to have it picked up, or they'd charge me for both! So, I'm now fully responsible fir correcting their error & I'm on their clock? No way!
I told them to forget it & that we'd find our own welder to get it fixed. Cost us $180!
Then for 2 weeks they kept sending emails asking to schedule a delivery date. Three times by email, and once by phone, I told them we would refuse delivery even if it showed up & quit contacting us.
I did make sure to tell them we would never deal with Wayfair again.

Shipping and handling is free for orders over 49 dollars. So I get my get my free shipping. Amazon doesn't give me free shipping. I am so sorry your had to got ripped off.
