3. All I know is no caffeine for 24 hours. Didn't say whether or not I could or should take my meds or

what to wear. (Is this the running on the treadmill thing?) I think I will take my meds with me.

I wish I had thought of these questions before the weekend.

9. Do your biofeedback, deep breathing and make sure you had the right kind of meal (or not) and relax.

If anything starts to go wrong, they'll stop the test. No worse than a work out at the health club, really.
A rather vigorous one, maybe, but they'll take care of you and make sure nothing goes awry.

Last time they had me do one it was on a fast running inclined treadmill.

15. You won't have to run. You might have to walk fast but they won't take chances.

Wear loose fitting, comfortable clothes and walking shoes. Most likely they'll stick electrodes all over you and you'll have to walk pretty quick for a while. I haven't done this but my husband has done a bunch and no running was involved. They won't make you do more than your knees, hips, etc. can do.

17. If you are unable to walk quickly

they will give you a drug that will speed up your heart rate as though you were running. It can feel "odd" but when the test is over (and it only takes a few minutes), they give another drug to slow it back down. In my case, I have bad knees and they decided to give me the drug. It made me sick to my stomach and light-headed; I thought I was going to pass out. They stopped immediately and I recovered in seconds. The next time I told them I would take my chances walking quickly with the bad knees rather than have the drug. If they give you the drug, you may not have the same reaction I did. At any rate, it isn't difficult, even when it's difficult.
