Enjoying my own variation on James Bond's Vesper Martini.

The classic: gin, vodka, and Lillet. I added half an ounce of limoncello in my quest to add this wonderful liqueur to as many cocktails as can be considered appropriate.

Limoncello makes a nice substitute for the traditional lemon peel garnish.

Shaken, not stirred. Of course.

🍸

Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend.

I love you all…

2. I love President Bartlet. But he's wrong about the weak part.

One is still getting the full measure of however much spirit makes up the cocktail. The shaking doesn’t weaken the drink; it imparts tiny slivers of ice to the drink, which feature Ian Fleming reportedly enjoyed very much.

If President Bartlet had done a careful count of exactly how much liquor the book-Bond put away, he would have either been impressed or appalled.

Hello, fellow The West Wing fan!

I had to remind myself what a really good President looks and sounds like, so I would binge watch all the episodes, over and over.

Strange, back then, to think that that was as bad as it could get.

Every time the Republicans have hit bottom, one thinks they’ve got nowhere to go but up. Then they plow into the bedrock.

I must have watched the first four seasons of TWW a hundred times. It renews my faith in humanity in a way that nothing else could until Kamala Harris and Tim Walz came along.

It makes a nice chilly drink, which I appreciate but many people feel that room temperature allows more full flavor. I shake my Cosmopolitans almost to slushy consistency and it adds some water but there’s still the same amount of alcohol so I don’t see that as being weaker.

Cudos to anyone who can name the artist and the song. Bonus points for the album.
