(12,213 posts)I remember hearing it just as I drove up to my familys home on Christmas Eve 1999. I was living in NYC and had flown in to California, driving a rental car and listened to the CD on the way. I think it was the last song and it ended right before I went into the house. 😊

Wig In A Box, Wicked Little Town, Sugar Daddy, Tear Me Down, Origin of Love - perfect songs, all
And dammit, a great GREAT movie that never gets talked about, you know? I do not comprehend the lack of adoration for this film, like, on an international/intergalactic level!!

Thanks for your post, g70!!

(1,253 posts)Yeah, Leg!
I'm happy someone else shows some love for Miss Hedwig!
The musical is definitely a cult hit, so not surprising the mainstream does not award it. In 2000, the original Off-Broadway cast was nominated for Best Musical Theatre Album, and the Broadway revival was nominated in 2015.
The blu-ray of the movie has some cut footage of Yitzhak that is really fun. See it if you can!

(76,960 posts)It's from the Beat album. It was the period with Adrian Belew & Tony Levin.
I'm going to see Belew, Levin, Vai, & Carey who are going to play the songs from these 3 albums.
They're doing this tour with the complete blessing of Fripp & Bruford who just can't tour anymore.
I've got VIP tickets, too.
Beautiful small venue. (1,850 seats). Have to wait until early November, though.

(2,847 posts)yeah, that's the name of it, by Real Estate.
I just love how it kinda has just an escapist kinda groove. I think I heard it when watching Weeds a few years ago, was like, 'what is that?!' and thankfully Shazam came to the rescue. Hope you all like it:

(179,153 posts)I can't remember where or when I first heard it, but there's something about the Way Huston talks the song that is very appealing. The lyrics are by Maxwell Anderson and the music Kurt Weill for a 1938 musical "Knickerbocker Holiday".
