... an amazing art carreer after, including toy design, Jim Henson.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Craig_Yoe
I went to his wedding (first marriage) with Father Fred (an Episcopal priest) in the summer of '70. Fred introduced them as Jaig and Cranet.
They had a coffee house named the the Avalon and also sponsored a Montessori primary school. On their honeymoon after what was rumored to be an acid trip (allegedly) became Jesus Freaks, and they the stage at the Avalon went from alternative and folk to Jebus. The last artist i saw there was David Allen Coe (still living in his gray hearse) who didn't know about the spiritual realignment. He played a little loaded and the language hasn't very jebus oriented. He got only some enthusiasm from our group of three, nothing but hostility from everybody else. His last song contained lyrics about taking a bat and "tenderizing her head."
They passed the hat and he got about $.38.
We were tripping on some psilocybin. And driving home after taking Connie home, Harv and I followed a semi back up Rte 18 back to Akron in the heavy snow. The truck kept slowing down. At about 20MPH on the 55MPH road, we realized the snow, the wind, the lights in the dark - we'd imagined the semi. For about 10 miles.
Good times.

Hes freaking out downstairs. I yelled down to see what was going on. THEY WONT STOP COMING he yelled up to me. I told him to ignore them the light is off.
Hed been going through the drawers in our bachelor pad kitchen to find stuff to give to the truck or treaters. He was handing out salt and pepper packets, plastic utensils, and packs of matches.
Yeah we were the townhouse handing out packs of matches to kids.

I had already been unknowingly exposed to the virus.
We had our Halloween party at school and later in the evening went trick or treating. Once I got home and took off my vinyl mask and costume my entire face and body were covered. Had the evidence presented itself before Halloween, I would have missed out on all the fun.
Also... I'm not quite age eligible for the Shingles vaccine yet.

(61,409 posts)of NYC, --Statue of Liberty, World Towers Memorial, Macy's windows, tourist things. On the last day I woke up feeling like crap.I looked in the mirror and the whole side of my face was covered with blisters--eyes, nose. I looked like a monster. Went to the hospital and they said it was Shingles. They were so burning , much more then I was a kid. They gave me codeine to take for the ride on the AAA.
Except AAA wouldn't let me on the bus as I might spread the virus. I took a Grayhound Home. It was damn painful. I get my shots. With the new one you only have to get it once. Please get it. Love , Debbie.

(583 posts)I once moved into a very large apartment complex with multiple residential tower blocks with many families. When Halloween came I duly went out to the local supermarket to buy many candy varieties and filled a bucket for the expected guests. Very early in the evening a young boy came by and I gave him a handful. The boy looked at my full bucket and commented it was much too much! He asked if he could come by later in the night for the leftovers. We agreed on a time of 10pm for the leftovers. At 10 sharp there was the knock on the door and the boy was there with a big grin on his face. As there was no other trick or treaters, he left with the full bucket of candy including many Reese's Peanut Butter Chocolate Cups! I never found out why there was hardly any trick or treaters at that place!
