(17,802 posts)I already had a login.gov account so all i needed to do was link it my ss.gov account. I also have my tsa login linked, and my nmfs permit account linked.
Pretty painless.

(34,296 posts)So it would not let me login to Social Security with my login.gov which I also had, and as a result when I use ID me it will not let me see my security settings I have to login with my Social Security login, but if they do away with the Social Security login then what happens to my access to my security settings?
I do not know how to log into it with login.gov because whenever I try to it seems like it's creating an entirely new Social Security online account for me which clearly I can't and would not do.

(77,795 posts)I *did* say I'm a confused Pisces! What I remember is I had to move from room to room to find a background and acceptable light and flash level, took *several* attempts

(77,795 posts)Social Security and VA. In my fog am thinking all Fed outlets needed to be coordinated with this thing? All I know is I had to do the picture thing and it was a hassle.
And newest thing is that RENEWALS for passports are starting to be done.

(23,426 posts)I already can't remember what I did, but it was easy and took just a few minutes.
When I completed the update, I logged out and logged back in, and it worked

(1,405 posts)The first time I used login.gov at the SSA site, I went to the SSA site and clicked the button that linked to the login.gov site. I already had an account at login.gov so gave my email and password and had a confimation code request sent to my phone.
After I gave the confirmation code to the website, I was transferred back to SSA at the usual term or service check the box page.
So, if you haven't already, start at the SSA website.
