I found a tree removal guy who is very affordable. Does good work but is kind of ?????

He's done a lot of work for me and recently removed a BIG pine tree from the front yard. It was slowly dying and he gave me a really good price. That was on Sunday. They filled their truck with the branches and said they'd be back early on Monday to finish cutting the trunk and take away the rest of the tree. Not a sign of him.. He finally stopped by that night and explained he's not feeling well but would be back Tuesday to finish the job. Tuesday turned in to Thursday and he FINALLY showed up, still not feeling well.

I mentioned Covid and he said he's immune. Then he said it again, as if I had a response. I didn't. Then he told me he's immune because he's protected by the blood of Jesus Christ. Well, OK. How many deaths have I read about concerning people who had that same delusion. I just let it drop. Hopefully my new test kits get here soon. The funny thing is, he's got that 'holy protection' yet still has a tattoo of a topless woman on his calf. To each their own, I guess.

Now, I've never KNOWINGLY had Covid, despite several close exposures. I'm either lucky, immune or asymptomatic. I do know that I'm not protected by anyone's bodily fluids and I'm not risking it so I AM protected by getting vaccinated and boosted.

I've decided that no more trees will be removed, this year. I'll see if he shows up, again, next year. I'm not counting on it.

Yes, he would definitely be long gone. Like I've never gotten Covid as well but I think I've been more lucky than anything. No divine intervention is the reasoning though and I wouldn't even make that claim.

which is helpful, as it alerts me not to hire them.

I always roll my eyes at these “Ah’m perteckted by th’ blood of Jeezus Christ!” types. It never occurs to their diseased, minuscule brains that vaccination and immunization are the miracle.

Other than this situation, he's been great. He does a lot of work in the neighborhood. I've been very happy with his work and he's very affordable. He has his own little tree business and I like working with locally owned, small businesses.

I wonder if he was joking and I was just too tired from taking care of the kitten that I miss it.

Oh well. I'll worry about that, next year.

Business reputation do matter and if good in the past hopefully just a rough patch. Blood of Christ and all that jazz should kick in soon. As my Dad used to say after I had a car accident - it’s just metal. In this case it’s just wood and will be repaired soon.

9. Just because someone is lucky enough to have some sort of natural immunity

When I went in for my wellness check they were out of the Covid or Flu vaccine. I'm going to set up an appointment elsewhere for next week.

12. That sounds like a guy we hired once. He did manage to get the trees down, but never

entirely finished the job. Stupidly, we felt sorry for him because he appeared to be having hard times and we got the impression his wife was disabled, so we paid him up front. Didn't see him again until the following year when he turned up, apparently ready to tap the old couple for cash again. My husband confronted him about work not done from the previous year and he assured us he'd take care of it. That was about a year ago and we haven't seen him since.

13. I knew he'd be back

He left a very big and expensive looking chain saw and 2 1/2 gallon of 2 cycle fuel mix at my house, as a 'guarantee' he'd return. Plus, he wouldn't want any bad reviews because he does get a lot of work in the neighborhood.

14. There are other good arborists out there. I'd take til spring and find one.
