(12,582 posts)I used the leftover candles from a pack that spelled out Happy Birthday or Congratulations. The leftover letters from his sisters bday cake (a week before) spelled Orangutan. So thats what his cake said!

(97,052 posts)My junk drawer is organized with small trays, and I have divided my junk into similar items - spare keys together. Rubber bands, twist ties together. Things like that. It's my "catch-all" drawer. Has pens, screwdrivers, coupons, twine even. All nice and neat.
I'm sorry. I have a sick mind.

(97,052 posts)I don't know why, it just is. I wish my other venues of storage would stay that neat with the same effort. Not so much though.
Tolja, sick mind.

(11,876 posts)Several years ago I cut down a few canned cat food boxes and placed them on the right hand side of the drawer.
In one cut down box I have cleaning sponges and rubber bands. In another cut down box there are double A, triple A and 9 volt batteries.
The left hand side has easy access to tools like a hammer, several screwdrivers, steel wool pads, a sized variety of command hooks, and and several different grit of sand paper.
It's not perfect by any means but it's organized. I wish that I could say the same about the rest of the house.

(438 posts)I have 15 drawers in my kitchen and about half of them would be considered miscellaneous drawers. And only I know what drawer any specific miscellaneous item is in.

(11,299 posts)Up until about four months ago, that was the exact same thing that I would have seen staring back at me! I finally threw it away because it was getting so old. Unbelievable. A birthday candle with the shape of the number '3'. It was white with blue and yellow trim. What color was yours?
debm55
(61,074 posts)Birthday.
The Third Birthday candle was the same colors. Birthday Button has a background of balloons with the #4 in the middle in white.

(11,299 posts)I decided to buy one many years ago because I thought it would look nice on the mantle with the two candles that are always there. I never used it, but it sat there for a while. Then, someone with more sense than I have looked it one day and asked me why I had the speed pour wand on the mantle. I asked him what he was referring to. He held up the 'snuffer' and said that it was a speed pour wand for making drinks. It was then that I noticed the plastic liner in each side of the 'snuffer'.
Ooops. Glad I never used it!
