Alternatively, I've been successful getting them to go on their own by turning the lights out, and pulling the shades on all but one window, which was left open.

so he can take down one of the storm windows and leave a window open for the wren!

replaced the storm window and put the ladder away. He happened to stick his head into the room - the bird's still there!He'll try again!
