we call her a Chihuahua but she must be crossed with something else. (do Chihuahuas have curly tails?) Weighs 5 or 6 pounds, can jump really high, walk and pirouette on her hind legs, vocal, no underbite like a pug or other smashed-face type, wants to be held a lot but also small-dog brave (loves to work cattle!) Damn cute.

What if it was mixed with a Chihuahua?

Kali
(56,829 posts)also not furry and has a pink tongue

(1 post)Looks like a Chow Golden Retriever (or Lab)mix. Chow Chihuahua mix unlikely unless dad is Chihuahua, and that presents some interesting logistics problems!

(56,829 posts)from wiki:
Chihuahuas love their dens and will often burrow themselves in pillows, clothes hampers, and blankets. They are often found under the covers or at the bottom of the bed, deep in the dark and safety of what they believe is their den.

(1,581 posts)And I'd go with post #7 - Shiba Inu and Chihuahua based on looks, tail and your other descriptors.
What a cutie - you must be a happy owner!
Happy New Year!

(34,914 posts)Or, perhaps some Jack Russell terrier. "Small and brave" suggests that she definitely has some sort of terrier in her. I also see a little bit of beagle in her face, especially around the eyes.
Kali
(56,829 posts)so far the only think I have seen her kill is flies. She catches them in the air - she is quite good at it. She has an ongoing war with our old MamaKitty but gets along ok with the other one. Bosses both other dogs for sure but plays with them a lot.

(30,947 posts)You can now get a DNA test kit from Petsmart, if you really want to know. I have a dog that I think is a cross between a mini-Pin and Dachshund. And I have been contemplating sending off for the DNA test kit. It cost about $50 for the kit and I don't know what the price is for the test results.
Kali
(56,829 posts)wish it were on the order of ten dollars! 45 or 50 each just to satisfy curiosity it way out of my budget

(13,446 posts)Looks like a mixed breed to me. I see some Chihuahua there, but that looka a lot like a terrier snout. I think you would be safe calling her a Dawg. A mighty FINE Dawg.

(56,829 posts)all heart and more stamina than my two big dogs. she can run for MILES and then wants to play when she gets home. Last April I even ran over her. Scared the crap out of me and my overreaction scared the crap out of her - she was fine, I was an emotional wreck LOL
I think I did a thread on it, maybe playa could find it for us. hahahahhahaa

(48,962 posts)because their Pappi looks just like my Darlin. My Husband says the only reason he ever gets breakfast is because my boy nags me to cook him his breakfast every morning. I get one cup of coffee and then he barks at the fridge and stove. He wants his omelette.
the little ones sure do have the instincts to work their humans, it is amazing.

(255,525 posts)Basenji crossed my mind, too, but I'm not all that good at these things. Did you ask the vet? Mine identified what he thought went into my sweet little terrier mix who was found as a stray.
I'm now dog mom to a Brussels Griffon, my second. I grew up with a cocker, have had four in my life, since I adopt senior dogs. I called about an eight-year-old cocker and ended up with a nine-year-old eight pound Brussels Griffon and he turned me into a little dog person.

(56,829 posts)how are you enjoying MIRT? have you done it before? I am kind of missing the work tonight.
