Another band clue:

When the band recorded with Elvis Costello they were under contract with another label so they changed their name to The Shamrocks on the album credits. The Shamrocks is a really clever clue if you know what a shamrock is.

Blue Öyster Cult.

One of my favorites from the 70s, and not obscure to me.

That line from Heart of Gold drove me nuts. I recognized it as familiar, but didn't apply the right voice to it.

Context has a lot to do with obscurity.
