I love when they talk about the best friends within the herd, and the connections with the others.
Elephants are amazing and very smart. HERD is an elephant orphanage project which has rehabilitated a number of elephants who have lost their herd. Elephants absolutely need the herd.

parked along one side. A lone cow was at the fence closest to the truck. The truck slowly started to take off and the cow trailed along the fence until she got to the corner. The truck went on and she stayed there a minute until she was sure there was no retrieving.

She finally turned to head back towards the middle of the pasture where the rest were. One of the cows in the middle left the rest and rushed to meet her, and the two of them had a communication with their noses together.

I firmly believe that the first cow's offspring was in that truck.
