Sometime mid-January. If I was going to take it down right after Christmas...the idea of a tree would be pointless. I can't help it but I laugh at all the trouble the people who are in a rush to take them go through even to get them up. Pointless to not leave it up. But that's my opinion.

a tree in years and my holiday decorating is in the category of minimalist. Red table cloth on my table, this year I actually splurged for a pointsettia, and I did purchase some pine boughs that I put them in a vase. Done!

Needless to say, cleanup will be super easy.

We put it up the first weekend in December, and will tend to take it down the first weekend after New Years. That way the house is all decorated for our various dinner parties.

We're both eastern European heritage. My Grandmothers always celebrated the "Feast of the Three Kings" on Jan. 6 and growing up, my family always left the tree up past Jan. 6.

it was bad luck to keep the tree in the house into the New Year. She lived to be almost 95.

The tree was down by New Year's Day. It was bad luck to leave it up.
I don't ever remember it being up later that 12/31.
