(4,612 posts)They had big cans of chickpeas from before my stewardship so I just started playing with it and sending samples to the bar. It is very versatile, takes other flavors well and won non-hummus people over easily. Love it with roast garlic, lemon juice, fresh green herbs like italian parsley. Roast red peppers.
My favorite snack is probably quesadillas cooked in a bit of butter and topped with sour cream cream, guac and pico de gallo.
Or if not cooking, chips and salsa. Worked at one resto where I found out that I literally could not stop eating chips and salsa.
Kale chips with grated parm baked in the oven is another fave.

(60,612 posts)pretzels. Love them. I love that they are made with real chocolate and not the waxy kind.

(29,732 posts)Today, my favorite snack was pistachios. Itll be something else tomorrow. But, lets say I came across a snack buffet, where I had all kinds of choices. Hummus & pita chips is a definite contender. I once remarked that I could subsist on that alone if I had to. At this moment, the best thing I can imagine is smoked Gouda on a poppyseed cracker.

Also love red pepper hummus. First time I had it I ate a large quantity and remembered the next day that hummus is indeed made from beans.

(23,694 posts)We have one of those collapsable silicone poppers which you use in the microwave. That thing is awesome! We like them so much we have given one to everyone in our families who has their own kitchen. Everybody loves them, and they are not expensive.
Plus you use regular old plain popcorn, so no chemicals or artificial flavors.

The Meijer grocery store chain has carries their own premium brand of several products, Frederick's. One of the premium flavor choices among the potato chips is a cilantro-avocado-lime potato chip which is fantastically delicious.

(491 posts)It took me a while to warm up to the taste of wild meat, especially venison. I only began hunting seven or eight years ago, having grown up on grocery store meat my entire life prior. Hunting changed my life however, and I see store-bought meat in a different light. I eat a 99-100% meat-based diet and so jerky is a necessity for when I get the urge to snack.
