Hello, fellow members of the DU Lounge!

My name is Dale Uhlmann. I am a retired adjunct college English instructor who had taught forty-two years at various colleges and universities in Ohio, where I had grown up before having moved to California's central valley over a year-and-a-half ago. I will always have a soft spot in my heart for Ohio ♥, including its sports teams (MLB being my favorite sport ⚾ , but I love living in such a beautiful and progressive state as California, with its orchards, canals, mountains, and fascinating history. I am a writer, professional editor, and film buff (especially silent movies, horror, science-fiction films, and classic comedies), and post a weekly movie review on www.svengoolie.com. I also have a Facebook page.

I've just joined DU and look forward to corresponding with all of you!

I saw when Hoolihan passed away and watched a few clips of their skits on You Tube. I wish some of the old clips were available
I'd stay up and watch them almost every week. I think they were on Fri, but so long ago.

37. Memories of Great Friday Nights

Like many of us who had grown up as kids in the 1960s and 1970s, I was really saddened by that news 😔. I feel as if a huge part of mych childhood is now gone. Rest in peace, Big Chuck, and thanks for all the fun 🙏.

I'd grown up with Ghoulardi! Because I was only eight or nine years old at the time, my memories of Ernie Anderson and company and company are a little fuzzy. I have much more vivid memories of Hoolihan and Big Chuck.

Well, I'm originally from Michigan and can't quite muster a soft spot.... moved to Vermont in '80 and just recently moved to Eastern Shore Maryland to hang out with an almost retired Sociology Professor.... I miss the mountains
