One can read what I write only by holding it up to a mirror. (The handwriting is less than great but is legible.)

I thought everyone could do this, but have since learned (from a neuroscientist I met in a bar where i was demonstrating this "skill" ) that only a small subset of people can do this. As I am a genotypic but not a phenotypic carrier of dyslexic genes, and I assume, without any real knowledge, this is the origin of this dubious skill.

Apparently Leonardo Da Vinci also had this ability.

Started with left-hand dominance. But it scared my kindergarten teacher. So she and my mother conspired to make me right-handed. But I never completely gave up my left hand.

I discovered that I could write/print with my left hand, sometimes better than the products from my right hand. And I could also write backwards very nicely with my left hand, like da Vinci.

After age 45, I considered, what the Hell, take back your left hand. And so I have. I opt for the left railing on stairs both ascending and descending. I eat with my left hand. I even use the left-hand program on the screen when I'm a cashier. I am a born-again Leftie.
