More so College football. Catastrophic injuries/Head trauma can occur there too, but the defense is just so hlthe2b Mar 2025 #16

It's a little weird to hear an athletic contest referred to as a "game of footie", on this side of the Pacific, but I like the action and strategies

Oh...Australian football, just in case there's any confusion about the AFL moniker

When I saw "AFL", I thought for a moment the old American Football League had reorganized.

The Puppy Bowl on the other hand....I never lose interest in dogs! Think I'll go play fetch with little Opie.

damned big in the Pros (although the differences are shrinking) that I hold my breath on every tackle.

I heard a radio piece on women beginning a tackle football league (or maybe it has been around, but is just now getting more attention with some well-known men's coaches coming over)... As much as I am apprehensive on the potential for irreparable head (and other) trauma in men's football, this dedicated feminist must admit to having even a bit more when I think of tackle football for women. I may just have to get used to the concept because I certainly think women who want to play should have the option, but, wow... Women CAN be just as physical in sports as men and there are undoubtedly some who can deliver an aggressive tackle.
