I’m a grandmother raising her 6 year old grandson who is scared for his future. I can’t change the direction this country is taking for him. I want him to grow up confident, prepared, and self sufficient. Sometimes I get so stressed over this election that it paralyzes me to inactivity, if that makes sense. But since I found DU, I’ve learned others are scared too. All I have to do is scroll the posts and I know I’m not alone in my fear and anger. So to those that gifted me hearts and to everyone else here. THANK YOU! You’ve made this grandma feel better.

All I am asking for it is that you let your grandson know that he is loved, read
together in the afternoon or evening, lots of times outdoors, and if possible
a team sport like coach pitch baseball.

He is the light of my life. We read and say our nightly prayers before bed. I get very tired but at the same time, I feel blessed to have him. You’re right about a child’s laughter. It warms my heart.
