A herd of African elephants instinctively formed an “alert circle,” intended to protect the younger elephants at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park this morning, as a 5.2 magnitude earthquake shook southern California.

I think, in time, we may learn they are sentient beyond our understanding. We're still peering into the Mist at the dawn of Knowledge, charging forward on our arrogance and greed. Sadly, I fear they won't survive our "husbandry".
