The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsI woke up to read about the death of Big T.
Big T. was a dog that was rescued in Thailand about a week ago. He was about 10 years old and had a horrible tumor on his underside.
He died yesterday surrounded with love and compassion.
It cracked me up bad and I was so sad so early in the day.
Luckily, I remembered to call LHEAP for energy assistance. Its dialing for dollars sometimes for hours and you never get through. Luckily, I got through right away and have an appointment tomorrow a.m. for a phone interview.
This will pay my PG&E bill for several months hopefully.
Thank god I got through as times are tough for me after losing thousands of dollars on a used car I bought in 2023.
I have no car now and getting through for LHEAP help sure matters a lot to me.
Anyone that thinks that disabled old people living in poverty enjoy this are a total disgrace and shameful.
All for now,

(12,167 posts)I have been able to move forward over time I think because of new animals that I adopted. But now I have no more and I'm still grieving my last two, one of which died 6 years ago and my last who died 4 years ago. It's painful.

(22,240 posts)I lost my set of twin tabby cats that my late husband adopted from the shelter in 2013 in this past year.
It hurts.
I hope you are able to heal some how

I've considered adopting her a friend but I'm not sure this is wise the way things are going right now.
Thanks for you well wishes!

(12,167 posts)Adoption is such a loving thing to do. It's just so hard losing them. I've told myself that if the Universe wants me to have another dog or cat it will happen. That's actually how we wound up with our last dog. She found us when we were camping. Most likely she had been dumped. She got along well with our other dog...most of the time. She had her odd moments but damn, I sure miss her.
