Cost me a 100 bucks.
After that I started cutting my hair. I found a simple method for a great cut.
I bend over, comb my hair over my face and gather it into a loose pont tail twisting the ends and make a straight cut of about one inch. If you want a shorter cut you can take off more. This will give you a layered cut. Than I blow dry.
I get a lot of compliments and amazement that I do it myself.

Right now my husband cuts my hair. It works but since I just pull it all to the back & he cuts it straight across, the sides are longer than the rest. I have a bang cutting tool called a Bango that I love! I wish I had a face to go w/o bangs but I don't.

The salon was near where I worked. Then I transferred & got a new stylist & then got a new job & then moved & moved again & over the years had a few different ones & then in fall of 2004 I ran into my old stylist again & he was still at the same shop so I called & made an appt. I always got such a great cut from him! Remember, 2004 was Bush vs Kerry & I had a couple of anti-Bush bumper stickers on my truck. So he comes out to greet me & says, "You're still driving the same old truck?" & walks around & sees the stickers & got real quiet. It was not an easy going "Hey how've you been" session & was the first bad cut I ever got from him.

Hats are cool! Also, lots of cool hair accessories to clip it back or in place until it grows out. Omg, so many more options than when I was young!

that a really bad haircut was as useful as shaving your head for spiritual growth.

I just got a haircut yesterday and a friend said it looked like Felicity Kendal from the Rosemary and Thyme TV show. She didn't know that the pictures I'd shown the hairdresser were screenshots from the show so I guess I've found my new hairdresser. Just wish she wasn't 2 busses, 2 trains, and 2.5 hours away. Guess I'll be making the trek out to my friend's place more often 🙂

"Make me one with everything".

Okay, I'll stop now.

Not wanting to put goop on my head and try to comb out nits, I shaved my head. Done.

there was an outbreak of lice in my grandkids school. I didn't think anyone took it seriously, like it wasn't a big deal. I won't even try on hats at a store.

I was tempted to get a buzzcut, but talked myself out of it. I thought if I got rid of the hair I have, when it grew out it might be more manageable. The stylist who cut my hair said she'd gotten a buzzcut about 8 months ago. She said it didn't change her hair texture.

Unlike flies, mosquitoes, mice and other vermin, they don’t carry diseases. They aren’t a public health concern. They’re just icky.

I've always just braided it in a single braid and sometimes up in a bun. I've always thought that was a whole lot easier (and cheaper) than getting hair cuts all the time.

It's never grown much beyond my waist, but even that had started to become a bit too much to for this old lady to deal with.

So I walked into a shop and asked if anyone could do a pixie cut.

Now it's been about 4 months and it's starting to get in my eyes so I guess I need another hair cut but that's what I've been trying to avoid for decades.

I have a vague recollection of some sort of a hair cutter.... kinda like a vacuum that you just run over your head and it cuts every hair the same length... Does such a thing exist?
