Whatever you meant to say is not what I think you thought.

Jesus said, Giving is an act of love:
Jesus linked giving to love for God and neighbor. He encouraged giving to the poor and those unable to repay.

but not in this case. The Hepburn family did a great thing for which they should be lauded but not at the coast of putting a family in need down. They shared their life and troubles. They are great too.

What you mean is that when giving you should not be looking for accolades but instead want to give others something without reward for yourself

never take anything away from a struggling family by implying they are not great too. Or that they are takers when it is something they need. Especially for their children.

I once saw Katharine Hepburn in her later years (before Parkinson's really took her down) skiing in Aspen, CO. I was a teen just learning to ski, but she was unmistakable. At the time, celebs were ubiquitous but not harassed at all in town--so that they typically just seemed at ease. George Hamilton was also a fixture (and a very good skier, as I recall).

I always liked Hepburn... When she got to a certain age, you could tell she didn't give a flying F..k what others thought, but still a lovely lady.

Explains her a lot - the world I want to live in full of kindness and decency.
