There was a program years ago called Undercover Boss
Undercover Boss' premise is the boss of a large corporation would go undercover and work alongside their employees learning about them and their lives. At the end, the boss would reward one of more of their employees with money or in some other way that would change their lives. I always consider it a bit sappy and IMO, it was designed to put their company in a good light.
What these doctors did was great. No television cameras around, only a cellphone camera by someone in the office. I think they did this for all the right reasons.
There are some great employers and some terrible ones. Back in the late 70s at Myrtle Beach, SC, a friend's teenage son got a job at a local stead house. His employer had a simple philosophy when it came to pay; he'll pay you what you're worth. If you're worth minimum wage he'll pay you minimum wage. If you're worth $15 dollars an hour, that's what he'll pay you. He had the best restaurant staff in the area because he took care of them.
