Tonight, enjoying a cocktail of my own invention: a Cascade Sunset.

Basically a vodka and tonic with half an ounce of limoncello, and a splash of Aperol. Yummy!

The color is reminiscent of that magic hour in Washington, when the setting sun touches the western slopes of Mount Rainier with pink and orange.

Hope everyone is having a relaxing weekend.

Every once in a while, I’ll make a dessert cocktail with whatever I have on hand. Something like Irish Cream, with Kahlua, whipped cream-flavored vodka, coffee liqueur, and some Frangelico.

But it’s the Cascade Sunset that I would submit to a cocktail creation contest.

I recently finished off a bottle of peanut butter whiskey. And it was wonderful. I hope my local big box liquor store has a bottle of salted caramel whiskey.

We were in Seattle a couple of weeks ago before heading south to Leavenworth, then Hood River before going over to the coast.

We love the Oregon and Northern California coasts in the summer when we escape the Gulf of Mexico heat.

Cheers 🍷
