(444 posts)I always wanted a Labrador because them being water dogs and me being a water enthusiast. Somehow I ended up with a Labrador who was literally afraid of water
He didn't even come near me when I was standing near a pool, a river, the sea...any kind of body of water. Still loved him to death

(258,910 posts)As a real little kid I remember going with her when she took her car in for some reason. Her car was black and yellow and I remember the fins.

(23,459 posts)We drove a '59 Chevy (got it for $200.00 lol) It had fins, but looked less crabby

(39 posts)It is a 59 Chevy Impala back in the days when car fins were popular. Most cars with fins had vertical fins but the 59 Impala was adorned with horizontal ones. I had a 58 Chevy Impala that had somewhat rounded fins. The 59 model's fins were more prominent. I thought they were stupid looking.

(23,459 posts)I appreciate Salmon Chanted Evening's efforts looking for memes, getting them all uploaded and then making a post. At least it's fun looking for memes that might bring a smile.
I open DU every Sunday morning hoping to see posts from SCE d others who are absent.

(26,115 posts)Good selections - the labs are funny- reminds me of our Aussie Finley who also is double coated. He will jump in any water, but walking on wet grass - oh no - the horrors!

(23,459 posts)Some dogs love the water. I can't think of any that like the rain
I went to Amish country with my kids last weekend. We visited the world's biggest cuckoo clock, located in Sugar Creek. Have you been? As long as I post on Sunday morning, I'll try to stick a picture in with the memes.

(41,069 posts)We took our 3 boys down there and rode on the train. Didnt do any shopping (when you go on a trip with 4 males, shopping is rarely part of your itinerary). We had a good time, tho!

(4,525 posts)I, too, look for SCE every Sunday morning.
Its a good and kind family of DU who pick up the slack when one of us have to fall back.
Im incredibly grateful to you and I remain grateful for all the chuckles and love poured from SCE.

(23,459 posts)On Sundays, I look for those first, one of the bright moments of the week. I miss their take, and I think of them while I'm looking at memes. They are such a good example of kindness and humor.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
