I am sorry, I posted before I was completely aware & awake.
Last summer tornado warning off before 5 am. I am lucky, all that happened was in March 2024.
Several people were killed.

(52,411 posts)Why does Minnesota test tornado sirens on the first Wednesday of the month?
The monthly Wednesday tornado siren test, a Minnesota tradition, traces its origins back to 1950s fears of a Soviet atomic bomb attack. Writer Dave Kenney, who has researched Civil Defense in Minnesota, discusses how Minnesotans responded to an evolving international threat during the Cold War.
And then there is Severe Weather week, usually in April when sirens sound at different times

Proofreading is still an important skill to remember to deploy. AI proofreading is not good enough.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
