(596 posts)manifests so physically, too. Losing your spouse is a whole different kind of grief. I actually made myself a sign that said Dont go looking for something big; get through the day; get through the night. I hung it up by my computer. My heart just aches knowing what he is facing. Gentle hugs to you, kentuck🩷

(10,439 posts)Every morning we get news of the most recent erosion of our great society.
Kentuck, despite the lessening of grief of my hubby's passing a year ago, knowing he doesn't have to see America sink to Fascism is somewhat comforting.
Sending you a big hug,

(114,676 posts)The good memories of a lifetime spent getting to know someone crowd out the bad memories of the end of that lifetime.
However, until that happens, it knocks us flat.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
