because a lot more people are going to be giving up their cats and dogs because the tariffs are going to make it so expensive to feed themselves while maintaining shelter. Some people think domesticated animals will do just fine on their own, but that can't be farther from the truth. Cats and dogs who haven't been taught to hunt when they were small don't generally figure it out as adults.

So yeah, most will go to kill shelters, but at least those shelters will give them a chance, first. If you're surrendering an animal you can't afford and have no one to take, make sure the shelter uses drugs, not gas. Please.
