(18,575 posts)Maybe "Roll Over Beethoven," which is of course virtually indistinguishable from "Johnny B. Goode."
In fact, now that I think of it, most of Chuck Berry's songs were virtually indistinguishable from one another. Parents at the time noticed this, and commented on it. That doesn't make them bad, you understand.

All the songs on this thread hold memories. I'm not about to chose one as the best in rock and roll history. There are so many good ones. But this one would be in my line up :

(10,943 posts)... is the one that gives you THAT feeling, when you hear it... every time... even though the specific song can change! Johnny B Goode certainly qualifies.

(33,080 posts)and it should have been a number one hit for Chuck, but it wasn't.
Some of his other great songs that weren't number 1 hits include:
- "No Particular Place to Go"
- "Maybellene"
- "Sweet Little Sixteen"
- "Nadine"
- "Reelin & a Rockin"
- "You Never Can Tell"
- "School Days"
- "Memphis"
Yet the only Number 1 hit Chuck Berry ever had was "My Ding-a-Ling"
(Go figure)
