One is a vintage Tasmanian Devil. I’ve had it so long I can’t remember where it came from! Probably had as a child.

The other one Mr. Diamond bought for me a couple years ago, it’s a Baby Yoda.

Yes those darn things were a PITA to load! Seinfeld did an episode about a Pez dispenser.

I’ve bought a few in adulthood too. I’m not a collector but I have some around here somewhere: a few Sesame Street characters and a Charlie Brown I recall. I also have a giant Charlie Brown my sister gave me. It dispenses entire packs!

… or seen a dispenser. Then I came across a display of several hundred different ones, at a nearby restaurant. News to me!

Seeing them did solve a riddle for me, though: finally was able to figure out what they were talking about in an old Seinfeld episode!

He was old but was bed-ridden after a hip replacement, so he directed me to the basement where the equipment was kept.

The stairway walls were lined with a bunch of lacquered puzzles, which was unusual but kind of cool. Then I reached the basement and saw (as he informed me) 3,600 Pez dispensers standing neatly on custom wood shelves.

It never occurred to me that so many varieties even existed. Sport figures, Disney, Simpsons, Muppets, Star Wars, and so on.

Turns out he and his son started collecting when the son was young, and now that the son has grown up and moved out, the dad maintains the collection as a reminder of those days.
