Anybody else wonder if wolves to dogs became domesticated

because they can't adequately scritch their own rumps and trained us to do that for them?

One of the many things I ponder while scritching my dog's not so tiny hiney.

The answer is simple, our troglodytic ancestors domesticated canines because they had not invented napkins.
Let's face it, wiping one's hands on a dire wolf could have unpleasant consequences, so a smaller, friendlier beast was needed.
